Installing or repairing sinks and basins is usually a job for plumbers. However some handymen are able to replace existing. basins and sinks if the pipework is already done.

A builder or handyman will get involved when a vanity within a cabinet needs to be installed.

Some of the costings below has excluded the pipework and plumbing as this can vary a lot depending on the length of pipe, difficulty of site and many other variables.

For work related to the pipework, this is usually done by plumbers unless it's a small extension or alteration to pipes, then a handyman can sometimes do this, especially if no building consent is required. 

Basins

Toilet Hand Basin: All Inclusive

Cost includes fixtures, fully installed, with pipework, taps or mixers, traps, waste, waste stacks and polybutylene and pvc pipes

Bathroom Basin: Excludes Plumbing

Cost includes fixture, chrome waste outlet, plug, chain, stay and brackets

• Wall basin, vitreous china                                            $305 - $465
• Full pedestal, vitreous china basin                               $420 - $950

Vanity Units

Cost includes vanity unit, basin and installation.

Excludes tapware, waste, trap, piping and plumbing, dependent on quality and type. 

• 900mm, 2door, 1 drawer                  $500 - $1300
• 1200mm, 3 door, 2 drawer               $700 - $1500
• 1500mm, 3 door, 2 drawer               $900-$1,750

Laundry

Stainless steel laundry tub                    $1000-$1,250

Robinhood supertub

Cost includes cabinet, tapware and installation. Excludes plumbing
